Luna and Lily

These two have been playing non stop…

Luna has been coughing up fur balls from all the playing - poor Lily.  I keep telling her to get to higher ground but I think, deep down, she actually likes it..  lol

Needle Girls - Norreen’s Birthday

We celebrated Norreen’s birthday today - morning tea and sewing at my place and then a trip to Crunchies for lunch..

Pressies and morning tea first..

I had bacon and eggs etc for lunch and then an ice-cream for dessert.

After lunch, we came back to my place for, welllll - we chatted while Susan crocheted.  Norreen wanted to go home from lunch as she hasn’t been well lately, but I hope she had a good time while she was with us..  Her birthday celebration was a month late due to unforeseen circumstances - better late than never..  I know I had a good day and even though it was a sewing gathering, I confess - I didn’t see a stitch…. Oh well, there is always tomorrow..

Cheers

Caravan Holiday - Wunglebung

We were invited to join De, her hubby and some friends, on a caravan trip of a different kind for us.  This was totally off the grid.  We have all the gear to do this but have never tried going off grid.  What a fabulous weekend.  De and her hubby were delightful and her friends were lovely too.  It was a long drive - approximately a little over four hours.  The drive along the road to the camp site was lovely, lots of tree lined roads and then there would be views of the mountains..

Wayne wanted to check the creek water height before we crossed to the other side..

The stars at night were beautiful and although I tried, I couldn't take a photo to do them justice.

Life is tough... nice way to end the first day..
In the morning it was wonderful to wake to a foggy backdrop.

Wayne found this little character in his ugg boots..  lol  Amelia has been at it again...
This was the view directly in front of the van.
Yes - I like the weeds too..
This place is so perfect - quiet and beautiful.  There are huge sites here but only about six of them and they are spread apart.

We all went kayaking - that was a fun.

We had a ball going up the creek/river.  At one stage there was a small rough area and I was tipped upside down.  The kayak kept going until it filled with heaps of water and Isaac and Harvey were able to get it to the bank.  My paddle kept going and Isaac went after it and brought it back to me.
Me - wellllll, I couldn't stand up because the water was flowing too fast, it was only shallow, so I crawled over to the side as best I could.  Unfortunately, Wayne ran into me and over me, pinning my leg.. I pushed his kayak out the way and in the course of doing this, he was up ended too.  It was sooo funny and we couldn't stop laughing.  My phone disappeared when the kayak flipped - I thought it was never to be seen again.  Harvey and Isaac helped me empty the kayak of water which felt like it took ages.  Wayne was further back doing the same to his.  Then he went looking for my phone.. typical for him, he found it.  Glad it is waterproof because it is still working.. phew..  Anyhow, we got back to camp in relatively good shape - I have a couple of bruises but all in all, I'm fine.
Another gorgeous night and this time I tried another first - scones in the camp oven - pretty good..
We had a visitor come one night - well actually he came every night, but this night we fed him or her.

Can you see the different coloured flames - blue and green..  Kate added something to the flames which changed their colour..  we did joke that we all now have cancer from whatever chemical was in the flame changing stuff..  It was very pretty though..
Reflection by the fire.
Do you think it is a tad cold..
Our camp area..

The bathroom ..

There is a lookout called Sunset Hill, but you need to drive to it as it's a little steep and just a track to reach the top.  When you get to the top it has a glorious view of the area.  You can see our camp site down the bottom if you look carefully.

We all called into Jamworks on the way home for some delicious food..and to stock up on some supplies.
Here we all are - left to right - De, Kate, Isaac, Harvey, Me, Wayne, Greg and Lily..  I showed Lily a photo of my cat Lily..lol

Ended the meal with Mango Ice cream...

I came home with great memories and a couple of bruises but would definitely do it again..  Thanks De and Greg. It was lovely meeting Kate, Isaac and the kids.  Are we going next Easter..  wink wink..

cheers
